PREY Review: Finally a sequel that we deserve.

Updated: Aug 26, 2022

What a refreshing surprise #PreyMovie ended up being, who knew that pitting the Predator against Comanches was exactly what the franchise needed... Well Tratchenberg did because he directed the hell out of this survivalist action flick with Amber Midthunder stealing the show.

I didn't expect to see Comanches fighting French-Canadians in the same movie where a Predator is fighting a bear, this was such a brilliant approach to the material. They take the right amount of time setting up Naru's ambition to become a hunter.

Some of my issues are honestly just nitpicks, in terms of production design most of it worked perfectly but sometimes I thought the actors were too polished and the 1st act tends to repeat itself at times, that being said I am so glad we finally have another GREAT Predator film.

With Amber Midthunder in PREY & Mary Elizabeth Winstead in 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, it's fair to say that Dan Tratchenberg is doing a fantastic job at crafting excellent female-led horror adventures and making us care about his characters.

Initial Score: 8.5/10
